CVE-2026-48526

HIGHPre-NVD 7.47.4
EchelonGraph scoreMEDIUM confidence

This high-severity CVE scores 7.4 under a secondary CVSS source (NVD's own analysis pending). EPSS exploit probability: 0.4%, top 68% of all CVEs by exploit prediction. GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).

PyJWT is a JSON Web Token implementation in Python. Prior to 2.13.0, when the verifier is decoding JSON Web Tokens, while supporting both asymmetric and HMAC algorithms, the library does not validate use of JSON Web Keys in HMAC algorithm, allowing attacker to use the issuer public key as the secret key for HMAC algorithm. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.13.0.
