CVE-2026-43823

HIGHPre-NVD 7.57.5
EchelonGraph scoreMEDIUM confidence

This high-severity CVE scores 7.5 under CISA-ADP (Vulnrichment) CVSS v3.1 (NVD's own analysis pending). EPSS exploit probability: 0.3%, top 82% of all CVEs by exploit prediction. GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).

A fix is available — apply it.

When initializing an RSA public key from DER or PEM bytes throws an error, the EVP_PKEY* is double-freed: first in the catch block, then in the deinit. This can lead to a crash on future memory allocations. This double-free manifests when BoringSSL cannot decode the public key from the bytes provided. This vulnerability is addressed in swift-crypto version 4.5.1.
