CVE-2026-35591

HIGHPre-NVD 7.07.0
EchelonGraph scoreMEDIUM confidence

This high-severity CVE scores 7.0 under a secondary CVSS source (NVD's own analysis pending). EPSS exploit probability: 0.1%, top 97% of all CVEs by exploit prediction. GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).

libvips is a fast image processing library with low memory needs. The tiffload operation in libvips versions before and including 8.18.1 could incorrectly determine the number of channels in a JPEG or JPEG2000-encoded tile within a TIFF image, leading to a possible buffer overflow. This has been patched in version 8.18.2.
