✅ Remediation

For details on how to apply this update, which includes the changes described in this advisory, refer to: https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 Workaround: Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability. Workaround: This issue is reachable only through applications that use glibc's tsearch/tdelete APIs and allow construction of extremely deep trees (on the order of a million nodes). Restrict such services to trusted clients and enforce process memory limits so large tree growth is impractical. Workaround: Do not convert untrusted input using the SHIFT_JISX0213 character set (for example via iconv). Where conversion cannot be avoided, apply process CPU time limits and container cgroup resource limits so a hung converter cannot exhaust host resources. Workaround: To mitigate this avoid converting untrusted data with that charset, or disable the conversion path if unused. Where conversion of untrusted input cannot be avoided, restrict access to trusted clients and apply process CPU/resource limits to contain hang impact.
