CVE-2026-6879

LOWPre-NVD 2.02.0
EchelonGraph scoreMEDIUM confidence

This low-severity CVE scores 2.0 under a secondary CVSS source (NVD's own analysis pending). EPSS exploit probability: 0.4%, top 72% of all CVEs by exploit prediction. GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).

A fix is available — apply it.

Element.findall() and fully-consumed Element.iterfind() exhibit O(n^2) time complexity when using XPath index predicates (e.g. [1], [last()], [last()-N]) on XML documents with many same-tag siblings. Element.find() is only affected when the first match is near the end  of the sibling list, such as with [last()] or [last()-N].//item[1] short-circuits after the first match.
