CVE-2026-58659

HIGHPre-NVD 7.87.8
EchelonGraph scoreLOW confidence

This high-severity CVE scores 7.8 under the CNA's CVSS (NVD's own analysis pending). EPSS exploit-prediction score not yet available (the EPSS model rescores nightly; freshly-published CVEs typically appear within 48 hours). GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).

No vendor fix yet — apply a workaround or compensating control (WAF / firewall / segmentation) and watch for a patch.

PyTorch Lightning through 2.6.5, fixed in commit d710d68, contains a remote code execution vulnerability in the _load_state function that imports and executes attacker-controlled module names from checkpoint _instantiator hyperparameters. Attackers can craft malicious checkpoint files that bypass weights_only=True protections to execute arbitrary code when LightningModule.load_from_checkpoint is called.
