For details on how to apply this update, which includes the changes described in this advisory, refer to: https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 Workaround: Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability. Workaround: To prevent the creation of symbolic links when cloning or fetching a repository, the core.symlinks configuration option can be set to false, mitigating this vulnerability for new repositories. However, existing repositories containing symbolic or hard links are still vulnerable to this issue. Use the following command to set the core.symlinks configuration option to false: ~~~ git config --global core.symlinks false ~~~ Workaround: The primary mitigation for this flaw is to avoid parsing XML documents originating from untrusted, unauthenticated, or unverified sources.
