CVE-2026-84447

HIGHPre-NVD 7.57.5
EchelonGraph scoreMEDIUM confidence

This high-severity CVE scores 7.5 under a secondary CVSS source (NVD's own analysis pending). EPSS exploit probability: 0.5%, top 57% of all CVEs by exploit prediction. GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).

libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. In 1.23.1 and earlier, crafted grid, iovl, and iden reference graphs can repeatedly decode the same base image because processed_ids is copied per branch and ImageItem::decode_image() has no shared operation budget. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.23.2.
