CVE-2026-54778

MEDIUMPre-NVD 6.26.2
EchelonGraph scoreLOW confidence

This medium-severity CVE scores 6.2 under the CNA's CVSS (NVD's own analysis pending). EPSS exploit-prediction score not yet available (the EPSS model rescores nightly; freshly-published CVEs typically appear within 48 hours). GitHub Security Advisory data not yet ingested — confidence will rise once GHSA publishes (typical lag: hours to days for open-source ecosystem CVEs; never for infrastructure-only CVEs).

CoreWCF: UnixDomainSocket Non-Reentrant POSIX Identity Resolution

Impact

Race condition in POSIX peer identity resolution may attribute one connection’s identity to another (getpwuid/getgrgid non-reentrant) and may crash the host process under contention.

Patches

Fixed in CoreWCF v1.8.1 and v1.9.1

Workarounds

Restrict UDS filesystem permissions so that only trusted local users can connect to the socket path. The race still exists but the attacker pool is constrained.
